Fort Valley State’s football team, coming off of an 8-2 regular season, winning the first ever Beach Bowl and almost losing their coach, will get back to business with an interesting 2024 schedule that features a visit to an old foe in a new place.

The Wildcats released their 2024 schedule Monday morning, filled out with Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games and a visit to South Carolina State on Oct. 19, where they’ll face former Benedict head coach Chennis Berry and his new-look Bulldogs.

Fort Valley begins the season at home on Aug. 31 against Clark Atlanta and new head coach Teddy Keaton, then a trip to Division II Power Delta State on Sept. 21. The Statesmen advanced to the second round of the Division II playoffs last season.

The Wildcats will close out the regular season with their annual Fountain City Class showdown with rival Albany State on Saturday, Nov. 9.
