After foreshadowing his impending decision the day before, three-star dual-threat quarterback Christopher Martin announced via Twitter Friday afternoon he was committing to Alcorn State.
As a sophomore, the Tifton, Georgia, native became the first sophomore to start at quarterback in the 13 years that head coach Dean Fabrizio has led the Lee County (Georgia) football program. The Trojans went 11-2 that year, and Martin would garner 2021 All-State honorable mention honors and was First Team All-Region. He would also be ranked as the ESPN+ 2024 No. 3 quarterback in the nation.

Martin’s play earned him offers from schools that included Troy, UConn, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Yale, Alabama State, and Alcorn State.
Martin, a 6- foot-1, 190-pound passer, has been scouted as “very durable” and “able to take on incoming pressure.” He has been credited with “excellent vision downfield,” possessing good accuracy, a strong arm, and a calm pocket presence.
