The Grambling State quarterback room just got smaller after Quaterius Hawkins announced he is transferring to Northwestern State for his final year of eligibility.
Hawkins made his way to Grambling State from Jones Junior College, where he played three seasons from 2019-2021.
He was one of three quarterbacks that Grambling added in the 2022 offseason, along with Chance Amie and Julian Calvez.

In his one season with the Tigers, the JUCO transfer led the team with 929 passing yards, completing 66-of-140 pass attempts and six touchdowns.
Interestingly enough, Hawkins’ best performance of the year came against Northwestern State, in which he led the team to a 47-21 win.
He finished the game with a season-high 293 passing yards, completing 13-of-23 passes and threw for three touchdowns.
That was one of two 200 passing-yard performances Hawkins put up in the 2022 season. He also recorded 287 passing yards two games later against Bethune-Cookman.
