Rishard Jamell Densmore, a three-star football player who signed with Alabama State before later committing to Miles College, was fatally killed in a weekend shooting.

Al.com reported Monday that Densmore, 21, was shot at a mobile home park in Jefferson County, Alabama on Saturday

Area law enforcement indicated that Densmore was leaving the neighborhood when someone from a vehicle pulled up alongside him and fired multiple times.

The newspaper reported that a wounded Densmore, who was driving at the time, fled the scene before crashing his car along a nearby street.

The incident was apparently captured on a phone, authorities said. Densmore was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our student, Rishard Densmore. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends during this difficult time. May they find comfort and strength in their cherished memories. #MilesCollege pic.twitter.com/SHqj0a1XSp

Densmore was a standout athlete at Bessemer City High School. After his senior season, he signed with Alabama State.

Densmore, identified as a receiver, was set to play for Miles College prior to his death. He leaves behind two young children, ages 1 and 2. No arrests have been made in the shooting, Al.com reported.
