She recorded 17.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 43 games being named to the All-SWAC First Team during the 2021-2022 season.
Avent is one of three Texas Southern players who have entered the transfer portal at the conclusion of the 2023 season, including SWAC Freshman of the Year award winner Micah Gray.
Avent is now heading to a Jackson State team that is looking to avenge their early exit in the SWAC tournament after claiming their fourth straight regular season title.
