Malique Trent hit the game-winning 3-point shot to reach the target score to give HBCUnited 76-72 victory over Skip To My Lou in the opening round of The Basketball Tournament Saturday night.
HBCUnited, led by Norfolk State head coach Robert Jones, were paced by Brandon Tabb, who tacked on 14 points in the win for HBCUnited, which opened the game on a 15-2 run.

The game was played at famed Rucker Park in New York City.
HBCUnited, seeded fourth in the eight-team Rucker Park Regional, earned a second-round berth against top-seeded Young Game Changers at 8 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU.
