A tweet by Brett McMurphy of the Stadium Network surfaced late Friday, reporting that the SWAC planned to cancel fall sports Monday.

“Southwestern Athletic Conference will announce Monday it is canceling fall sports, sources told @Stadium. SWAC is latest FCS league that won’t play football in the fall,” McMurphy said in a tweet.
However, that report was quickly disputed by conference commissioner Charles McClelland.
Just got off the phone with SWAC commissioner Charles McClelland. “Whoever put that report out is 100% not accurate, although I cannot say how our presidents will vote Monday,” he said. “No decision has been made yet.” More to come at https://t.co/5RuwHpha2Q https://t.co/h1uaAnxu4Y
