The first half of the 2019 HBCU marching band season provided us with the kind of performances one would expect from certain bands and pleasant surprises from others.
We witnessed the up and coming potential of programs such as Kentucky State, Stillman College, and Langston University. And observed the upward trends associated with Alcorn State, Grambling State, and Talladega College.
There was also a notable change at the No. 1 position since we posted our preseason poll.
HBCU Sports presents its 5th annual midseason top 15 band poll.

Did someone from Jackson state do this cause this is all the way wrong.
Why? It is all opinionated and this time JSU won… Don’t worry if your band is any good it will eventually get votes. Don’t hate : congratulate!
No, JSU didn’t do this. It is purely base on polls. Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe the polling and voting was/is done by current and former band directors from HBCUs, so if you have any concerns about why JSU is number 1, I suggest contacting them and asking them why. The fact that it appears in HBCU sports forum should suggest that its not a one person show. Check the source behind this as opposed to making misguided remark! Just saying!!!
