With Hurricane Florence forecast to make landfall over the weekend throughout much of the East Coast, several HBCU football games were either postponed or canceled because of the weather outlook.
But there are still some interesting matchups on the horizon on Saturday for games not impacted by the storms.
Jackson State vs. Florida A&M
Even though both teams have combined to win 25 games between them since the last meeting in 2014 (in a contest won by the Tigers on a Hail Mary) the matchup at Bragg Memorial features first-year head coach Willie Simmons looking for an early-season signature win against Tony Hughes, who is just searching for any win at all in a must-win season.
Langston vs Southern
Langston is 22-4 since Quinton Morgan took over as head coach in 2015. The Sooner Athletic Conference favorites are 9-11-3 in 24 all-time meetings against the Jaguars.
Prairie View A&M vs. UNLV
After the first two weeks of the regular season, the most impressive HBCU squad outside of North Carolina A&T is Prairie View. The Panthers face a UNLV team that just last season lost to Howard in a historic upset.
Clark Atlanta vs. Tuskegee
Clark-Atlanta has only scored three offensive touchdowns against Tuskegee since 2010.
Kennesaw State vs. Alabama State
Alabama State will face an FCS team for the first time this season. After surviving against Tuskegee in overtime in Week 1, the Hornets face a Kennesaw State bunch that beat them 20-14 last season.
