Howard 66, Coppin State 58

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Howard University women’s basketball team erased a 10-point deficit to defeat Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Coppin State, 66-58, on Monday afternoon in Burr Gymnasium.

Hampton 60, North Carolina Central 36

HAMPTON, Va. — Behind a swarming defense that forced North Carolina Central into 36 turnovers and 24.1 percent field goal shooting, Hampton University defeated the visiting Eagles 60-36 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matchup on Monday afternoon.

North Carolina A&T 67, Morgan State 62

BALTIMORE — North Carolina A&T women’s basketball team picked up their first road win of the season on Monday as they defeated Morgan State 67-62 at Hill Field House. The Aggies (6-12, 2-3 MEAC) survived a fourth-quarter surge by the Bears that nearly derailed the Aggies important feat.

Norfolk State 82, Delaware State 74

DOVER, Del. — Junior forward Kayla Roberts scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while senior forward Khalilah Ali added 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Norfolk State women’s basketball team to an 82-74 victory over Delaware State on Monday evening at Memorial Hall.

Bethune-Cookman 64, Florida A&M 41

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Bethune-Cookman women’s basketball earned its third-straight 20-plus point win, after winning its third-straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game with a 64-41 victory over Florida A&M, Monday, Jan. 16 in Tallahassee, Fla.

Savannah State 60, South Carolina State 49

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while senior guard Rhianna Warren led the Savannah State University women’s basketball team with 16 points as the Lady Tigers (4-13, 2-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) defeated South Carolina State University (3-11, 0-3 MEAC) 60-49 for their second consecutive win in S-H-M Memorial Center Monday.
