Coppin State 81, Howard 72

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Howard University opened with an impressive showing in the first nine minutes, jumping out to an 18-point lead, but the Bison could not contain the hot-shooting Eagles as Coppin State rebounded to roll to an 81-70 win over Howard in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men’s game at Burr Gymnasium.

North Carolina Central 64, Hampton 51

HAMPTON, Va. — North Carolina Central University senior guard Dajuan Graf was ready for primetime as he poured in 17 points to lead the Eagles to a 64-51 win over Hampton, ending the Pirates’ undefeated start in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Convocation Center.

Morgan State 82, North Carolina A&T State 53

BALTIMORE — Tiwian Kendley had 21 points, including four 3-pointers, Kyle Thomas scored 17 points and Morgan State beat North Carolina A&T 82-53 on Monday night.

Norfolk State 75, Delaware State 70

DOVER, Del. — The Norfolk State men’s basketball team weathered a late storm from Delaware State and hung on to defeat the Hornets by a 75-70 score on Monday evening in a conference matchup at Memorial Hall.

Bethune-Cookman 82, Florida A&M 76

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Brandon Tabb and Quinton Forrest scored 29 and 21 points, respectively, and Reggie Baker sank four free throws in the final 12.3 seconds as Bethune-Cookman downed Florida A&M 82-76 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday.

Savannah State 86, South Carolina State 82

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Troyce Manassa sank six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead Savannah State to an 86-82 win over South Carolina State on Monday night.
