QB | Jr. | 6-0 | 181 | Monticello, Fla.

Making his first start since the first game of the season, Footman accounted for five touchdowns in Alcorn State’s 42-19 victory during Alabama A&M’s homecoming. He rushed for three touchdowns and 122 yards, one coming from 53 yards out. Footman also ended with 132 yards through the air with a pair of touchdown passes.

Defensive Player of the Week

DT | R-Jr. | 6-2 | 265 lbs. | Houston, Texas

Reed posted his third game of the season with multiple sacks, as he took down the quarterback twice to go along with five tackles during Prairie View A&M’s comeback win over Alabama State in overtime. Reed leads the league with eight sacks, and and helped anchor the top-ranked pass rush in the SWAC, as the Panthers’ 25 sacks are tops in the conference.

P | Jr. | 6-2 | 195 lbs. | Youngsville, La.

Vincent did his part to pin the Prairie View offense deep despite the Hornets’ loss to the Panthers in extra time. The junior had eight punts for 330 yards — good for 40+ yards per kick — with the longest punt being 60 yards. Two of his kicks landed inside the 20 yardline.

Newcomer of the Week
Trae Ferrell
Alcorn State
Linebacker
LB | So. | 6-1 | 250 lbs. | Jacksonville, Fla.

Ferrell stepped up big for the Braves with six tackles, a key sack and a pair of tackles for a loss resulting in -10 yards. His six tackles marked a career-high, upping his previous best of four. Ferrell helped an Alcorn defense hold Alabama A&M to just three points in the second half, including zero in the fourth quarter.
