Former Alcorn State wide receiver Tollette George was reportedly fatally shot in New Orleans Friday night
George, who played his last college game in the first-ever Celebration Bowl, had been found shot to death on a New Orleans street, NOLA.com reported.
George’s uncle, Brannon Getridge told reporters that George had planned to become a positive fixture in his hometown serving the community.
“He wanted to coach and then run the recreation department for a city,” Getridge said.
In five seasons at Alcorn, George led the team with 52 receptions for 637 yards and three touchdowns in 2013.
