North Carolina A&T State University has captured the 2015 SBN Sports Black College Football National Championship. The Aggies posted a 10-2 record on the way to winning their fourth SBN Sports Jake Gaither National Championship Trophy.

Defending SBN National Champion Alcorn State was the preseason pick to repeat as national champions followed by North Carolina A&T, Grambling State, South Carolina State and Bethune Cookman. Head Coach Rod Broadway and his Aggies finished in a three-way tie for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship (MEAC) along with Bethune Cookman and North Carolina-Central. The Aggies represented the MEAC in the inaugural Celebration Bowl where they defeated Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Champ Alcorn State 41-34. Broadway is the first coach to win SBN Sports Black College National Championships at three different colleges. In 2008, he led Grambling State to their 14th national championship and in 2006, he coached North Carolina-Central to their first.

SBN’s 2015 Black College National Championship Team, the “2015 SBN Sports Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year”, the “2015 SBN Sports Doug Williams Offensive Player of the Year” and the “2015 SBN Sports Mel Blount Defensive Player of the Year” will be recognized during enshrinement ceremonies for the Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016. The event will take place March 19, 2016, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
