Bethune-Cookman University associate athletic director Robert O’Neal was recently arrested in connection with an incident that occurred during the school’s homecoming game last month.
According to a report, O’Neal allegedly approached Daytona Beach police officers in a golf cart near a stadium entrance yelling at them to assist him with parking tickets.
A police report indicates that O’Neal became irate and jumped out of the golf cart, approached a sergeant and banged his forehead against the sergeant.
The report also asserts that O’Neal, 52, grabbed and pushed the sergeant during the Oct. 25 incident.
O’Neal was later booked into the Volusia County Jail on battery on a law enforcement officer complaint, according to the report. He has since posted bond and issued an apology for the incident.
