ATLANTA – Marcus Reynolds (Lane) was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week along with teammate Gabriel Mass (Lane) who was named the Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Monday.

Nick Christiansen (Miles) earned Special Teams Player of the Week and John McDowell (Miles) was picked as the Newcomer of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Marcus Reynolds
Lane College
QB * 200 * 6-1 * SO * Calhoun, Ga.
Reynolds recorded 132 rushing yards on 14 carries (1 TD) and was 12-of-18 passing with 163 yards (1 TD) to lead the Dragons to a 23-19 victory over Benedict College. Reynolds currently leads the SIAC in rushing yards (510) and rushing yards per game average (102).

Defensive Player of the Week
Gabriel Mass
Lane College
DE * 265 * 6-5 * SR * Jackson, Ala.
Mass was selected as the Dragons MVP in the Augusta City Classic with the 23-19 victory over Benedict College. Mass collected nine total tackles including 3.5 for loss of 19 yards, and 2.5 sacks for loss of 18 yards. Mass had a game saving sack on the quarterback with five seconds left to seal the victory for the Dragons.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Nick Christiansen
Miles College
K * 6-3 * 238 * SO * Clayton, N.C.
Christiansen continued his impressive season with 10 points in the Golden Bears’ 34-9 win over Central State. The sophomore kicker made both of his field goal attempts (22, 46) and each of his four points after touchdowns. On the season, he is perfect in 11 PAT attempts and is 6-for-8 on field goal attempts, with four of them from beyond 40 yards and two longer than 50 yards. He is also averaging 38.2 yards per punt.

Newcomer of the Week
John McDowell
Miles College
QB * 6-1 * 205 * SR * Covington, La.
McDowell, who made his first start for the Golden Bears, led the team to a 34-9 win over Central State. He completed 17-of-25 passes for 207 yards and rushed for 64 yards on 14 carries as Miles racked up a season-high 495 yards of total offense.
