New Orleans – The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference office announced today the GCAC Volleyball Players of the Week for the sixth week of the 2015 season. Dillard University sophomore Shelby Stewart has been tabbed as Attacker of the Week, while SUNO’s Ana Privat earned Defender of the Week honors, and her Lady Knights teammate Marija Stojijkovic is named as Setter of the Week.

GCAC Attacker of the Week: Shelby Stewart, Dillard (SO, OH, Houston, Texas)

Shelby Stewart picks up her first Attacker of the Week award after posting 27 kills in two matches for the Lady Bleu Devils as they went 1-1 with a conference win over Talladega. Stewart was a standout performer in Dillard’s loss to Loyola, with 14 kills and just one error. For the week she averaged 3.38 kills per set with an attack percentage of .391.

GCAC Defender of the Week: Ana Privat, SUNO (SR, L/DS, Belgrade, Serbia)

Ana Privat wins Defender of the Week honors for the third consecutive week as she racked up 67 digs in a pair of SUNO victories. She posted a conference season-high with 49 digs in a road victory over Philander Smith and leads the GCAC with an average of 5.8 digs per set.

GCAC Setter of the Week: Marija Stojijkovic (FR, S, Belgrade, Serbia)

Marija Stojijkovic wins her third straight Setter of the Week award for the SUNO Lady Knights. The freshman from Serbia had 66 assists as SUNO extended its win streak to a season-high eight straight matches. For the week she averaged 9.43 assists per set with a .263 attack percentage.
