ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced that Brett Standifer (Stillman) was named Offensive Player of the Week and James Woods (Morehouse) was picked as the Defensive Player of the Week, released Monday by the league office.

Brentton Ervin (Kentucky State) was selected as the Newcomer of the Week and teammate Dimitri Cooper (Kentucky State) was tabbed the Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brett Standifer
Stillman College
QB • 6-2 • 215 • So. • Cleveland, Tenn.
Standifer completed 19-of-27 pass attempts (70% completion percentage)
for 279 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in Stillman’s
29-17 win over Lane. He added 27 yards on the ground along with one
touchdown. Standifer set season highs for Stillman in passing yards,
touchdowns, completion percentage, completions and attempts. Standifer
has completed 33-of-58 passes (57%) for 383 yards and three touchdowns
on the season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
James Woods
Morehouse
LB• 6-2 • 225 • So. • Lithonia, Ga.
James Woods recorded seven tackles (five solo) and three sacks, in a win
over Clark Atlanta. Woods recorded a total of four tackles for loss and
helped restrict Clark Atlanta to 59 rushing yards.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Brentton Ervin
Kentucky State
LB •6-0 •210 • Fr. • Louisville, Ky.
Ervin had 10 total tackles, 4.5 for loss, half a sack, and a forced
fumble in leading Kentucky State’s defense to a 32-19 win at Benedict.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dimitri Cooper
Kentucky State
DL • 6-3•230 •Fr.• Radcliff, Ky.
Cooper picked up a blocked punt and returned it 35 yards for a
touchdown, giving Kentucky State its first touchdown in an eventual
32-19 win over Benedict.
