Tuskegee fall short in Division II tournament against West Alabama

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The first preseason college football All-America teams was released by USA College Football this weekend, and a pair of returning Golden Tigers have been named to the list.

Jewell Ratliff is one of two defensive players to earn distinction on the All-America team, standing alone as the only first team selection; while teammate Julian Morgan earned Honorable Mention status.

In 2014, Ratliff finished third on the team in tackles with 79, including 8.5 tackles for loss (third on the team) and one sack. He also led the team with three interceptions (returning those for 77 total yards). Ratliff, a senior from New Orleans, was in on two pass breakups and five passes defended in 2014 for the Golden Tigers.

Meanwhile, Morgan earned Honorable Mention honors after he was among the SIAC leaders in tackles for losses and sacks in 2014. Morgan finished ninth on the team in tackles with 34 – including 23 solo tackles. He also led the team in tackles for loss with 13.5 for 83 yards lost, and 9.5 sacks for 71 yards lost. Morgan also recorded three quarterback hurries in 2014.

Tuskegee, the defending SIAC champions, open the season at home on September 5 against Clark Atlanta University inside Cleve L. Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium.

Season tickets for the 2015 season are available with ordering on July 7. Season tickets are $160 for reserved seats (which include parking), $140 general admission for ages 13 and older (which include parking), and $50 for general admission for children ages 6-12.

For those interested in the homecoming contests on November 7 against Miles, the ticket prices have been announced for the contest. They will be $40 for reserved seats upon availability (parking not included), $30 for ages 13 and older, $15 for visiting high school and college students (with a valid student ID) and $10 for children ages 6 to 12.
