NEW YORK, N.Y. – The American Football Networks released the 26th Annual USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-American teams. Josh Straughan was named First Team quarterback with center Tyree Bell picking up Second Team accolades.
Straughan, a rising senior from Colton, Wash., completed 167-of-289 passes in 2014 for 2,223 yards and 26 touchdowns. In his junior season, Straughan set season-highs in completions and yards on Oct. 11 at Benedict College. Stillman won the 48-36 shootout with the quarterback completing 27-of-40 passes for 488 yards and five touchdowns. Straughan capped his junior season as All-SIAC First Team.
Bell, a rising sophomore from Centreville, Ala., is prepped to be one-of-two captains this upcoming season. As a freshman in 2014, Bell picked up six starts before an injury hampered his season. Not lost in the shortened season was the impact Bell had, earning Second Team All-SIAC.
Stillman is preparing for the 2015 season, the fifth under head coach Teddy Keaton. Keaton is 24-20 over four seasons, with the 2014 campaign wrapping up 5-6 overall with four Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victories.
