BIRMINGHAM – Paine College shot 55 percent from the floor to tower over Clark Atlanta, 97-71, during the 2015 SIAC Basketball Tournament on Wednesday at Bill Harris Arena in the Birmingham Crossplex.
Paine College (22-5) jumped out to a 20-7 lead to start the ball game and led 38-25 heading into intermission. The Lions spread the floor posting 19 assists as a team with seven players shooting at least 40 percent overall.
Denzel Dillingham led the floor with 20 points connecting 7-of-15 with three assists.
Arnis Libazs followed with 17 points, from 6-of-9 shooting, to complement eight rebounds. Alfonso Davis tacked on 16 points knocking down 7of-11.
Kenneth Green led Clark Atlanta (7-21) going 6-of-11 posting 16 points and seven rebounds. Derek Harper chipped in 13 and Allan Dempster had 10 points.
The Panthers shot 33 percent overall and was held without a point for more than seven minutes in the first half.
