JACKSON, Miss. – A seven run rally in the seventh inning wasn’t enough for Jackson State University to overcome an early deficit as the Tigers fell 19-10 to Southeastern Louisiana Tuesday afternoon. JSU (2-2) was led by Jesus Santana offensively. The first baseman went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double for five RBI. Shortstop Gary Thomas also had a multi-hit day and knocked in two runs of his own.
Incarnate Word def. PRAIRIE VIEW A&M, 14-4
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M University fell 14-4 Tuesday afternoon to Incarnate Word at home on Tankersley Field. Four Panthers recorded hits, but catcher Connor Wrye hit a first inning grand slam to put PVAMU on the board. Right-hander Michael Dewey struck out a game-high six batters in 4.1 innings on the mound. The starter only walked one of the 27 batters he faced, but received the loss.
