Former Jackson State defensive coordinator Derrick Burroughs is returning to his old stomping grounds.
Burroughs served as Lane’s athletic director in 2010 and 2011 and coached the football team from 2010 to 2013.
“I have no reservations about it,” Burroughs said. “When I’m in, I’m in.”
Last season, Burroughs was the defensive coordinator at Jackson State under head coach Harold Jackson.
Under Burroughs, Jackson State was ranked No. 3 in the SWAC total defense (366 yards per game), No. 4 in scoring defense (27.4 points per game) and No. 2 in pass defense (195 yards per game).
