New Orleans, La. – Talladega College forward Tajanee Wells has been named Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from December 28, 2014-January 3, 2015. This is her second Player of the Week award of the season.
A 5-8 sophomore forward from Columbus, Ohio, Scott averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in leading the Lady Tornadoes to wins over Bryan (Tenn.) and Dillard. Wells ranks second in the conference in scoring and is tied for third in the GCAC with 3 double-doubles this season. Her 13 rebounds against Dillard were a season-high and she also made 10 of 13 free throw attempts in that game, both career-highs.

Amber Antoine picked up her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 13 rebounds against Philander Smith…Vinnie Briggs averaged 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds for Xavier in two contests…Brandy Broome had 19 points, 7 assists, and 6 steals in SUNO’s win over LSU-Shreveport…Philander Smith center Rubyunnia McHenry had a GCAC season-high 20 rebounds to go along with 4 blocks and 4 steals as the Lady Panthers defeated Edward Waters 64-50…Dillard’s Ciara Morgan had 16 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in the Lady Bleu Devils’ narrow loss to Talladega.
