TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Stillman Tigers improved their record to 4-3 with a 3-point victory over the University of Montevallo on Saturday evening. The Tigers defeated the University of Montevallo in an overtime matchup, 74-71.
The game opened up with both teams making a three-point basket and then going on a run. Stillman was able to gain the early advantage after a 6-0 run which made it 9-3 in the Tigers favor.
The Tigers took on a 14-point lead to halftime after a 34-18 run to close the opening frame.
The two teams traded the lead throughout the remainder of the game, but neither side could hold on. University of Montevallo Malik Fields made two free throws with just two seconds showing on the clock, forcing overtime.
In overtime, the Tigers outscored the Falcons 7-4 and earned the three point win, 74-71.
Stillman was led in scoring by Rodnerius Lewis with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Markeith Madison had 14 points and 5 rebounds while Maurice Crenshaw had 11points and 6 rebounds.
Kairo Cannon and Jamon Jackson-Wilson each had 10 points respectively for the Tigers.
