Morgan State, one of five schools to win at least a share of the MEAC regular season championship, will be the lone conference representative in the FCS playoffs.
Morgan State (7-5, 6-2 MEAC) beat Delaware State 69-7 Saturday and will play No.18 Richmond (8-4, 5-3 CAA) in the first round of the FCS playoffs Nov. 29.
It has been 35 years since Morgan State won the MEAC crown.
“It erupted knowing that we were at least co-champs,” coach Lee Hull told the Baltimore Sun. “We reached our goal. That was our No. 1 goal, to be MEAC champs. So the place erupted, and the players were going crazy.”
A MEAC school has not won a postseason game since 1999.
