Alcorn State and Tuskegee captured the No. 1 rankings in this week’s HBCU Sports FCS and Division II fan polls.

The Braves (9-2), celebrating a 56-6 win over Arkansas-Pine Buff last Saturday, received 14-first place votes and 264 points. North Carolina A&T (9-2) moved up to the No. 2 spot with 12-first place votes, followed by Grambling (7-4), Southern (8-3) and Bethune-Cookman (8-3) to complete the top five.

South Carolina State (8-3) maintained its position at the No.6 spot, followed by Alabama State (6-5), Morgan State (6-5), North Carolina Central (6-5) and Prairie View A&M (5-5).

Playoff bound Tuskegee (9-2), preparing to host an NCAA Division II first-round game against West Georgia Saturday, garnered 10 first-place votes and 127 points. Virginia State (9-2), champions of the CIAA, was second with 2 first place vote and 116 points. The Trojans host LIU Post on Saturday in a first-round playoff contest.

Winston-Salem State (9-2) end the season at the No. 3 spot, followed by Albany State (7-3), Miles (6-4), Fayetteville State (5-5), Virginia Union (7-3), Fort Valley State (6-4), Morehouse (6-4) and Bowie State (5-5).

This is the final week for the Division II poll.
