North Carolina A&T’s Marquell Cartwright earned Rookie of the Week honors while Howard’s Toree Boyd was selected as the Offensive Lineman of the Week.  Mykael Martin of North Carolina Central was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Leonard (LB, 6-3, 200, r-Fr., Lake View, S.C.) finished with a game-high 13 tackles, 12 solo, with two sacks for 17 yards, and 3.5 tackles for a loss of 20 yards in a 34-17 win over Florida A&M.  He also forced a fumble and a quarterback hurry in the win.

Cartwright (RB, 190, Fr., High Point, N.C.) rushed 18 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in a win over Morgan State.  He also caught a 47-yard pass for his second touchdown of the game.

Boyd (OT, 6-4, 310, So., Miami, Fla.) graded out at 92-percent of his blocking assignments as the Bison rolled up a season high 607 yards of total offense in a win over Savannah State.  He allowed no sacks and no penalties and collected three pancake blocks to help Howard record its second conference victory of the season.
