Alabama State’s Turkey Day Classic football game will be played on Nov. 22 against Stillman College, according to the 2014 football schedule released by the school on Tuesday.
The game, which historically has been played on Thanksgiving Day, will be played this year the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
“As we move forward, we have a unique opportunity to work together as a unified team to chart a future that is even greater than our historic past, said university president Gwendolyn Boyd in a statement. “This is why I am excited to announce the release of our 2014 football schedule.”
The 12-game schedule includes nonconference games against Sam Houston State (Aug. 30) and Tennessee State (Sept. 6) to begin the season.
