Phil Dorn, Director of Athletics/Head Football Coach at (Fort Myers, FL) Bishop Verot Catholic High School, has resigned his position and accepted the position of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach at Alabama A&M University.
His resignation will take effect Feb. 3, 2014, according to the Bishop Verot High School website.
“Coach Dorn has been presented with the opportunity to return to his roots of coaching football at the collegiate level. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in operating the athletic program at Bishop Verot.”, said school principal John Cavell, Jr in an announcement. “We are grateful to Phil Dorn for his dedicated service to the students, faculty, families, and to all who are part of the Bishop Verot family.”
A three-year starter at Wittenberg, Dorn played on teams that won three conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III national championship game twice. He earned his bachelor‘s in physical education from Wittenberg in 1982 and his master’s in exercise science from Ohio State in 1985.
