MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State free safety Kejuan Riley and tackle Terren Jones were named to the Sports Network’s FCS Preseason All-America football team.
Riley was a first team choice, while Jones was a third-team selection.
Riley (6-2, 208, SR, Wetumkpa, Ala.) had career highs in tackles (75) and interceptions (nine), while tying a career-high in passes defended with 13. Riley’s nine interceptions ranked second in the FCS this season and his 17 career interceptions are tied for the most in ASU history.
The versatile defender also averaged 8.4 yards on 13 punt returns and 24.9 yards on seven kickoff returns. He was a first-team All-SWAC selection and a consensus All-American selection last season.
Jones (6-7, 320, SR, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.) battled back from an offseason injury to start the final nine games at left tackle, helping the Hornets score at least 28 points five times and gain more than 400 yards total offense four times. In 2011, Jones was a first-team All-SWAC selection and was named an honorable mention All-American by Boxtorow.com.
