•What’s Up for Week #2: Heading into the second week of the SWAC softball season, all ten teams will see action over the next seven days including the debut of the defending champions Mississippi Valley State on Thursday.

•Last Week’s Action: Despite inclement weather hitting the southern region last weekend and postponing a few season openers, several SWAC squads did take to the field in the opening week of play. Alcorn State went 3-1 in week #1 as it swept a Kentucky State doubleheader and split a doubleheader with Emory University. Alabama State went 2-0 last week, sweeping Savannah State in two games. Grambling State also posted two wins as it took down Texas College in a doubleheader. Texas Southern picked up a win as well, going 1-1 against Our Lady of the Lakes University.

•2010 SWAC Softball Championship Set for Irondale, AL: The 2010 SWAC Softball Tournament will move to the Shea Brothers Softball Complex in Irondale, AL April 29 – May 2.
