Spring practice, summer conditioning, and fall camp is over. Today it’s time to play.
All 10 SWAC teams will be in action this weekend, 9 of them on Saturday. Highlighting the schedule is the first conference matchup of the season, Texas Southern playing arch-rival Prairie View in the Labor Day Classic at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 pm (CT) and will be shown on tape delay at 9:30 pm (CT) on ESPNU.
Opening week action is so big in 2008, it takes two days to play. Sunday, defending SWAC Champ Jackson State plays Hampton in the 4th MEAC/SWAC Challenge in Orlando, Fl. Kickoff is at 1 pm (CT) and will be shown live on ESPN2
