Heffner, a 6-2, 195, junior from Memphis, Tennessee was 12-for-22 for 309 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in the Tigers 18-17 loss to Florida A&M in the Georgia Dome at the Atlanta Football Classic. Heffner also rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown to account for 376 yards of total offense on the day. He completed passes to seven different receivers, including two passes of 55 yards each. Heffner led TSU on a drive starting from his own 5-yard line to FAMU’s 5-yard line in the last 53 seconds of the game to set-up a potential game-winning 22-yard field goal with 0:09 remaining. The kick failed but Heffner was named TSU’s MVP of the game at the classic.
