You Got Folks Making More HBCU Band Highlight Videos Than Football Highlight Videos

I was like that when I was in school (although I wanted to do more on the radio side than on the TV side. I didn't want to move to Connecticut to make $15,000 a year). That's why I want our schools to utilize the ESPN3/ESPN+ avenue more so that these students can have a resume ready with ESPN broadcasts on it so that if that is their goal, they would be glad to do these games

The blueprint has been laid by the Meac for HBCUs

Honestly I think Valley would have an even greater atmosphere if their band and music program got real intensive, added research, and capitalized on the Delta birthing blues in what they do as a department/school. Use what you have and enhance it. The marching band too. Their babd has been pretty decent over the last 4 years now and they just need consistency to step up a bit. Sports wise, of course they need to win.
Anyway, complaining about bands stepping up the entertainment game doesn't reflect what your athletic department won't do per se, IMHO. Now if any and ALL attention to your school is primarily the band well then...yeah.

Valley should start marketing itself as the University of the Blues, its study and preservation. The Blues as you probably know has a big following among Whites in the U.S. and in Europe, among Asians too. Valley should look to those groups as potential donor bases. Non-Whites will give Black folks money especially if it's related to the arts and sports/entertainment.

Well Alcorn has two really good football highlight videos out right now, hope to add more to the collection later today

Where are these 1million viewed band vids at. So I can see who’s getting paid off our bands. I don’t see any on YouTube.

But to touch on the topic, it would be nice to see every swac program have a sports media team as dedicated as the bands (Boom, Jukes, Ocean) media teams. These guys produce some good coverage and have the best quality/angles in the swac. The only other band that produce that level of quality (that I’ve seen) is THE AGGIES from A&T. Their footage is top notch as well. I could be missing a few. Not sure if Bethune has a team for their band. I don’t watch them.

Ive never had a problem with footage/highlights of JSU football & I’ve never complained about the quality but now that I’m thinking about it. Lol the Boom’s footage is higher quality.
Alcorn Sounds of Dynomite and the GGs went viral with 17 million views as of today with the odd pairing with Fleetwood Mac, was featured in the Washington Post, Billboard and the Today Show. Our bands really influence and move the needle. Don't sleep on their prowess
