Would SU like The SU vs. Howard Football Series to Be Resurrected?

Must you be so cruel?

If I really wanted to be cruel, I could have asked him how many SU grads are at his other university. Although the band director at his other university graduated from Norfolk State, he marched four years in SU's band as an undergrad and was born and raised in Louisiana.

LOL ... my wife's former neighbor holds a chemical engineering degree from Howard. He'll tell you straight up no one there cares about athletics.

And I am a graduate of Howard University and am one among a few others I speak w/ who cares so your elementary theory is obviously false.

So, exactly what trivial point were you attempting to drive home? I want to help bless you people this morning. *smh*

Yeh, I saw that. My undergrad is "interestinging." (being PC) IMHO, there's GREAT native homegrown talent available and I'm not sure why they'd go outside the borders to hire... lol But the question begs, what does you statement have to do w/ Howard not benefiting by playing a school like Southern University in football? :D (lmao)

Aside: sTu is learning this exact same lesson as I type this, w/ regards to football recruiting and success. There are native texans who are more than capable w/ (mental) drive, so, why go outside? :D

(loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaded statements :D lol )

Louisiana is #1 per Capita of putting players in the NFL.

lol And chickens go "cluck cluck" when they speak to one another, like you're doing now w/ that superfluous attempt @ a stat. *smh*

California, Florida and Texas account for 585 of the 1,128 players in the above graph, which is 51.8 percent. That’s pretty insane.

That is insane that over 50% of current nflers are from those 3 states. Your "stat," jagtiludead, is an insane attempt @ relevancy when in all facuality, like a chicken, there's nil relevancy. :D #"cluck" "cluck" "cluck"

By the way Folks on here were talking, MEAC Schools would never try to schedule SWAC Schools.

But here is Howard wanting to play SU and SU refuses.

SU is already scared of McNeese and now their scared of Howard.

Wake Up SU. Nobody remembers what you did in the 90s with Pete. Just like Alcorn had to move on from McNair, you have to move on from your battles with the MEAC in the 70s-90s and make those match ups happen in TODAY's Time.

One of the biggest home games in JSU history was vs Howard. It was right after HU whooped SU in Atlanta for the HB. They came to Jackson we sent em home with an L. The next year, we went to DC and got STOMPED.... lol There were more JSU fans there than Howard fans BUT at the end of the day, I think that we DO need to create a SWAC presence along the EAST coast. These schools have no idea what BCF is. Let SU and the Jukebox roll into DC tho.... lol

So I sorta agree with the topic but that is mainly because I live on the EAST coast now and I would LOVE for a SWAC team to come close. The only SWAC team I recall coming up here was TxSo a few years go to play Rutgers.

Howard needs to INVEST in their football program and facilities to get competitive in their OWN conference before worrying about playing anybody outside their conference. They suck at football. They have nothing to gain by playing any SWAC school.

Who said SU refused to play Howard? Where do you see the Howard AD said SU will not play us?
Wake up SU? Man please. You act like we don't have no cred. You won the SWAC last year and you are worried about what SU is doing? Our schedule is set. Just worry about WHO Alcorn will be playing when you go to the 7 game SWAC schedule. SU will be fine. Scared of Howard. Dude, Howard can't blow their nose on the football field right now. Why should anybody be scared of them. It's about dollars and SENSE. If it ain't making SU no damn money. We ain't playing you. Bottom line. In the meantime, stop talking about stuff you don't know about and tell your own AD to schedule Howard if it means so much to you.

I rather play FAMU than Howard. And FAMU has a better chance of beating SU than Howard does. So out goes your theory of scared. As for McNeese. Again have your AD call them and schedule them. You are the reigning SWAC champs. Go show them Cowboys who is the boss. Also see if they will come to the Reservation while you are at it.

This is true. If it has to be meWac school, I would want us to play Norfolk, FAMU, BCU or even Delaware St.

Norfolk State would be my choice. That's also a solid area of football talent in the Hampton Roads area.Plus they have a nice venue.

Like I said earlier, it's not happening unless the money is right.

And I could finally see the band battle I have been waiting for since I got to SU. lol

I don't see viability in it, TP. If it's for academic recruiting purposes, Howard MUST travel IH10 West lol because it's for gotttttttttttttt dayamed sho' ain't happen'in ova' yonda'....captain.
Wonder why the Texas students leave.

Ask them, jagtiludead. We're not monolithic over here lol. However, this is one of many who N-E-V-E-R had a desire to leave and go "there." :D But I'm one of a few who are VERY prejudiced though.

Playing Howard is pointless for Southern and vice versa unless it's ATL where both schools would receive a substantial cut.
