WORST SCG COMIN' UP

Can somone please ride AAMU's jock so they can come down off this high horse. Some of us grew up in the Swac and remember when it was tough year in and year out. We remember when we could beat non conference teams and D2 Schools. Sorry if we are not impressed with 7-2 AAMU. You guys have lost two gimme games, struggle in the 6 and beat a thrown together team in JSU. We have said it time and time again that we are playing sandlot ball with new players and a new coaching staff. I've seen dominant teams and AAMU just isn't that team. The likes of Rice and Totten, lewis tilman and co, Destry wright running down your throat, GSu and Alcorn going blow for blow back during Mcnairs time. Get over it AAMU you're not there yet. Win this thing and we will be ready to congratulate you. We're not hating we just know the swac is down and being the Football Guru that you think you are, You should see this too.

Don't call on someone to do what you can not do interlectually. You are woefully interlectually ill-prepared to joust with someone who can post above the 3rd grade level.

You can take yo' bullsnit post over to the History Channel and see if they will buy that schitt you're trying to spread. Bottomline.............you're just playa hatein'.............."don't hate the playa's, hate the game"! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :wavey: :wavey: :wavey:

Intellectually use spell check intellectual one. AAMU aint good at all(Thanks MH)

Why does it always seem to happen that these kinds of comments pop to the surface when you half-hearted supporters of the former big three don't get your way in your conference wishes or if someone else is winning more than you are, you come with this Oke-doke bullsnit...................It is quite ironic however when one of you pitful b'tards have a winning season or make it to the SCG....................y'all call on the GOD LORD and everybody else talkin' about how everyone should support you (or your team) because you had a great season or because you thought your team was soooooo great..............

Some of you so called Sports Aficionado's are some of the most cynical/hypocritical sombeeches in the known free world............AND you have no clue about anything sports related.

Must you take everything as an attack on A&M? Did you not read what I said. :shame: "I SAID IF JACKSON STATE WAS HEADED TO THE SCG. I WOULD FEEL THE SAME WAY." This has nothing to do with the BIG 3 CRAP. If Jackson State and Southern were in the position that UAPB and A&M are in with the same records, I would still say this is a down year for the SWAC. Let me be brutally honest. Our best teams couldn't beat any winning and some non-winning teams from the A-10, Gateway, Big Sky, Great West, or Southern Conference. I support SWAC football period. I have nothing against A&M or Pine Bluff. And your statement is the very reason I'm against the 9-game mandate. The mandate hides how far behind our programs are compared with other I-AA conferences. And when we stepped out against the Gateway and the Great West, our teams, Valley and UAPB, got drilled. No one else played anybody.
As for not knowing football. Let's just say that I have followed I-AA and I-A football closely for years and I won't start throwing insults around.

Contrary to what you post about this being a "down year" in the SWAC because you don't feel that the SWAC would not stack up well against some of the other confs around the US............you forget that when McNair was playing pitch and catch with Rice at Valley and beating the snit out of other teams in and outside the the SWAC..............they still lost to teams like Jacksonville St & UT Chatt and this was when these teams programs were not 1-AA. Therefore your analogy does not seem to hold water.

Question.........
...Was it a 'down year" in the SWAC when jsue were the SWAC Champions in 1980 with an 8 - 3 record...........or in '85 with another 8 - 3...........or in '90 with an 8 - 4 while losing to 1-AA Middle Tn, Nothwestern La, Tenn St. and ALABAMA STATE???????

Yes, I realize you have your opinion and I'll have mine but I don't see nor do I agree with this 'down year in the SWAC BULLSCHITT'.

Don't hurt him Straw.

Even with those records back then........those SWAC Champs would be undefeated in the SWAC this year, the way our teams are playing. No way I see a Lewis Tillman led JSU team losing to any of our teams this year, or a Jerry Rice and Willie Totten team. It aint no secret the SWAC aint on the same level now as it was back then. None of our schools get the same type of talent and the coaching was better. Same can be said about those same 1AA playoff teams that beat the SWAC back then. They were much better too. So I have to agree with the other posters. No way do I think SU's 03 team was better than say the 93 or 95 or even 99 SU team. Our conference aint getting better. Sorry to break the news to you. Only thing is happening is that maybe the conference long time powers are not as strong as they used to be and others have caught up somewhat.

But if yall think the conference is so strong just because a particular team is winning then so be it.......I aint fooled like that. Hell SU could be undefeated and I would say the same thing. Our 03 team was one of the weakest SU SWAC title teams ever compared to earlier SU champs.

Ok. Let's look at past results.

In 2001, Grambling went 10-1 with a 30-29 road win against Portland State from the Big Sky Conference. No current conference team would come close.
In 1997, Southern beat Northwestern State 27-9. Northwestern went on to the playoffs as co-champs of the Southland.
In 1988, Jackson State beat Northwestern State 21-16. Northwestern State went on to beat the Big Sky's Boise State in the playoff.
In 1989, Grambling lost 59-56 in a wild game against SF Austin, who went on to the I-AA Championship game.
In 1985, Grambling beat Division I-A Oregon 23-6.
In 1995, Southern beat Northwestern State.

There are many more past non-conference wins, including Grambling's wins against Division I Hawaii and Temple.

I have followed this conference for a long time and have been to many of Jackson State's playoff losses. Several of those games we played came down to the last minutes. Matter of fact, the last playoff game Western Illinois beat us 31-24. But now, when we step out of conference we struggle to compete and the 9-game mandate helps mask how far behind we are despite paying our coaches more and more money.

Good observation..

Never thought about it like that.
