Game should have been won in regulation with a point blank shot. We just don't have clutch players.
 



How the hell "we" close when our keeper had to make 15 saves in a game and the offense went nearly 200 minutes without scoring?
 
The U.S. played good defense but the offense leaves a lot to be desired. You can look at the game although it had to be decided after regulation and can feel that Belgium was the better as well as more dominant team. I enjoyed the game but the U.S. has a lot of room for improvement. Lastly, props to them for doing their best and making all of their games interesting.

I know. He should at least been a sub for penalty shots sake, if it had made it that far. We play so damn scared and conservative until we need a goal. It's amazing what you can do when you just let lose and play like you don't give a muck. That's why I like teams like Brazil. They play wide open face break the whole freaking game.

That's what I was saying. Why did it take us being down by 2 goals to finally start attacking and being aggressive. I guess we play conservative because we don't have the horses to be more aggressive yet.

We are close, the team will have much more experience for 2018. I haven't seen anyone in this tournament that is just blowing the doors off of anyone. Most of the games this round were very similar to our game.

The US standing in the WC would have been a lot worse if Tim Howard does not play out of his damn fool mind. US got vastly outplayed in their last two games. Losing 1-0 to Germany or 2-1 to Belgium is not an indication of how those games were played.

Well that is why Tim Howard was chosen as the goalie. He did his job. May have got outplayed, but definitely had plenty of chances to win both games as well.

Man. We played so conservative on offense until it was sickening! Its a shame that it took us so long to star playing aggressive. Tim Howard didn't deserve to lose.
 
That loss is on Klinsman to me. Your team is CLEARLY struggling to scors, and you keep your best goal scorer on the bench. You could have brought him in during the 70th minute or so for an emotional lift and fresh legs.

Or a lot better if we stop playing so conservative and scared. Look how good we play when our backs are against the wall. You can't deny that. We played three of the best teams in the world and held our own playing so damn scared.

Why do we keep getting these sorry azz European coaches? If not an American, please go get a Brazilian.

You mean by Belgium with it's many shots that Howard had to make great saves. They were clearly better than us.

Have color leading the U.S. Soccer Team, you gotta to be kidding. Alexis Lalis was complaining because of the black German Americans that was on the team and overrated Donovan was left off the team. Wondo was on the team despite being garbage!

Once again. Tim Howard did his job. His job is to be the last line of defense and do his best to defend the goal. Despite all of those shots, Belgium didn't score until extra time. When you get the ball point blank at the goal with the goalie on the ground with less than a minute left in regulation needing only a half decent kick to score the winning goal, not much you can ask of the team. We had our chance to steal the win right there, and just didn't make the clutch play.
