Its been rumored among fans and students that the UAPB coach's job is up in the air again. Who will be the next coach??? Your guess is good is mind but attending the game on Sat. I heard this from several Alumni that they are not happy with the football program. Its a wait and see issue but many people think that Coach Moe Forte might step down as head coach of the Golden Lions this year. The team is not responding to his coaching style and might not next year. Some fan had the nerve to tell me that all the players on the team were Lee Hardman's recruits but how can that be. Coach Mo recruited a majority of the players to UAPB himself and could you explain this merry go round. Will UAPB bring back Coach Hardman?? Its a reason he is still on campus in the athletic dept. assign to another job. Don't be surprise if he coach the Lions again but thats if he take the job.

If he takes the job and coaches the Lions again, you can best believe them futhamuckas will lose a ISHTLOAD of alumni dollars in season ticket sales.

Why are you so mad at Hardman?? Coach was the best to coach at UAPB besides those 3 losing seasons 4-7 3-8 4-7 . Okay not bad by standards but now we are 2-7 under coach Mo's system. They were 6-3 last year but make that 6-5 his first year if we would have played SU and Alcorn. Coach Hardmans went several years @ 8-3, 8-3, 7-4, 6-5 , 6-5,8-4, 4-7,3-8,4-7 so Lee was not that bad of a coach and he took UAPB to the NAIA championship game. Do you remember?? He beat Grambling and SU as well as every team in the SWAC during his tenure. Research before you talk and I stay in Dallas and if you want to meet me let me know. I can sit down and have a one on one talk with you. UAPB is not losing dollars but if Coach don't come back he has been offered several coaching jobs but has refused!!!!!!!!!!!!! What has Mo done for you knucke heads lately!!!!

I'll ring in on this one before Nita gets really nasty with UAPBPower.
I think that it would only be right if UAPB would give Mo Forte one more year. He's only had two recruiting classes and, while it's still too early to tell how they'll pan out, the Golden Lions have shown some flashes of becoming a top program. They have had some big victories this year and followed them up with some major letdowns. I think that if they give him at least one more year, they'll be able to tell how things will really turn out with Forte.
Besides, I don't think UAPB's AD wants to have to take anymore calls from Nita. She was lighting them up when Hardaman was the coach. I don't think they want to take those calls again. :lol:

Plus, I saw what Bell did with Chavez High School Team. That team returned almost all of the players that made it to the playoffs before he got there. Dude where do you get this crap from? I was at the game on Sat just as I am always being that I hold season tickets. I sat among several Older Alums and not one of them complained that it was time to make a coaching change. As a matter of fact non of us left until the game had ended. What about you? Your right in one area, Hardman was the right man at one time,( while we were an NAIA school ) but when we returned to the SWAC he was certainly out of his comfort zone. Those records that your implying were mostly compiled against NAIA schools. Dont get me wrong I think that Hardman is a good man but he is not the man for UAPB. If he does come back as coach I will not continue to purchase season tickets. At least the kids are not quiting like they did with Hardman , they continue to play hard until the end. I appreciate that. Besides you know that we dont have the $$$$ to buy out that contract!!!! Give the man time. You know historically that we have only been average at best and mostly bad. a blowout loss to PV on homecoming and all hell breaks loose...that line was Hardman's line....they are severely undersized and as a team, they're not that good.
but give the man 4 years to make an assessment.....he won too fast with senior players and that makes for a hard road to travel back the next season.

This can only be TALK. UAPB ticket sales are up 100% since Hardman's last year. This man has had only 1 recruiting class. He was hired in mid-Feb, well late into the recruiting season 2 years ago. Next year he will have very few juniors due to him being hired late.
UAPB could very well b 4-5 or 5-4 right now. The GSU game slipped away, early turnovers at BCC caused that loss. A couple miscues vs ASU led to that loss. All this is due to playing VERY YOUNG PLAYERS. At least they are somewhat exciting.
When you go from an average of 6000 in attendance to 11000, believe me it has more to do with coaching & winning than anything. As I'm told, there were more than 17,000 people there for homecoming, but only 11,000 recorded. That increase in attendance equates to about $300,000 more dollars in revenue.
