Will the SWAC/HBCUs cancel games

My friend, you just don't get it.

Terrorism is not ALWAYS about the biggest, or most important target. It is simply about spreading "terror" anywhere or any way possible.

The office in Oklahoma City was not in a large city. It was not on the east coast. It was not a nationally known building. It was simply a convenient target to strike out against the perceived enemy . . . The United States.

Furthermore, terrorists can't go after the BIG targets every time. That would be foolish. The World Trade Center was the coup de gras. The next targets will likely be smaller, and far less well-known than those that were hit on Tuesday.

These people are just as happy to kill Americans in Jackson, MS (your example) as they are in Atlanta or Houston.

Personally, I hope that the incident the other day will not repeat itself ANYWHERE. But we as Americans must be on our guard EVERYWHERE.

In addition to this one should consider the NASA facilities and the military bases that are located in the south and southwest. These places would be prime targets for an attack.

Exactly. The Marshall Space Flight Center here in Huntsville has been on High Security Alert. It took me 1.5 hours to get thought the gate at Marshall this morning. Those of us here in my office have not been at work since 11:00 am on Tuesday before today.

I haven't heard of one cell phone call that was made by a victim that said "just called to say since I'm black they're gonna let me off the plane unharmed." These terrorists didn't/don't care what race you are. All they know is you are in America. They place no value on life, as you can tell by the way they are willing to die for the cause.

I live in a majority black metropolitian area in the SOUTH and here there is high alert at the Exxon plant because it's the plant that makes jet fuel and apparently is 3rd on the list of targets a terrorist would want to bomb because it would lessen the US ability to fight back. That has nothing to do with race.

Tuesday was just another example that no one or no country is untouchable.

REGARDLESS OF RACE, AGE, OR SEX JUST STRIVE TO BE SPIRITUALLY READY, whether you are sitting at a HBCU football game, at Madison Square Garden watching the Knicks or sitting in your living room.

Things are changing as we post!

The SEC has now backed off their original position of playing and now all games are ppd. The NFL has officially canceled all games. As it looks now, the college games game will be BCF.

It's not so much being intimidated by the terrorist, but it honors the dead. In alabama, when a funeral possession is on the highway, the traffic in the opposing stops out of respect.

The trouble with playing this weekend is almost saying, we don't give a dayum about those who's name of yet to be confirmed and just going on as business as usual. One week, one game won't hurt nobody. I'm not sure I'm in the mood to cheer for a team to score meaningless TD. It just doesn't make sense.

And they need to stop showing the plane crashing into the WTC. This will totally desynthisize to think this was just another hollywood production...


Let's be real, it just a game. We can move on next weekend. May God bless us all.

Well the games are canceled now and thats that. I wish the NCAA had stepped in tuesday and said there would be no games.

As I said Tuesday night I think the games should be canceled. But I think it is a sign of very poor leadership to wait until 5:00 Thursday to cancel the games. I think that if you wait that long you should have beefed up security, stopped all airplanes from flying over the stadiums and played the games.

But this in nothing new for the SWAC.
