Will losing to Kansas cement Strong's firing?

perfect example of wanting to get it the fast way. charlie is icarus with his wax ass wings. he had built something beautiful at Louisville. i still remember that game against Florida because before then i didn't know who he was. he should've stayed and continue building. instead he chased the bright lights.

i don't understand these coaches who run from one big name program to another, even though i understand the difference in coaching at a place like Louisville as opposed to Texas. but still, it's not like louisville was SCSU or some other small school with small school facilities and paying out small school salaries. I bet Louisville has an outstanding training facility, and strong would've made his money there. i don't know his salary when he left but i'm sure it was damn good money. why not keep building? the people at louisville had bought it in a way the people at UT didn't, for whatever reason.

Texas isn't the job it used to be, but it's better than Louisville.

Source: Texas players threaten boycott of TCU game

Several Texas players said that talk of a possible boycott was real, but that there’s no way they would have followed through with it.

“Yeah, it was real, but we’re not going to boycott,” Texas senior receiver Jacorey Warrick said Monday. “We’re going to play. That was just people angry about expressing their thoughts. Coach Strong was not going to let us boycott that game.”

Quarterback Shane Buechele echoed those thoughts about a boycott.

“It’s not going to happen,” the freshman said.

Offensive tackle Connor Williams explained that it was just a volatile situation involving Strong.

“Everybody’s emotional about it,” Williams said. “As a point, we’re not just playing for Coach Strong. We’re playing for the university as a whole and Longhorn Nation.”

No I want him over Coach O, but who I really want is Harbaugh, Meyers or Saban!

LOL. LSU can't afford Urban, Harbaugh or Saban. All three of those alumni and booster bases got more money than the entire state of LA. LOL.

Hell, that Billionaire U Of H alum just said Tom Herman will not be lost to LSU over money either. LOL.

Had he been patient he would have been hired at Florida, but he jumped off to Texas. Although I do wonder if he would have been able to duplicate what McElwain has done so far at Florida.

Possibly go 2-7 against ranked opponents?

2-7 while playing LSU, Michigan, Florida State (2 times), Alabama (2 times), and Tennessee(when they were healthy), although I think he will be 3-6 after beating Florida State and losing to Bama. Very few coaches can claim that they would do better while trying to rebuild a program.

They just announced that LSU could have the deal done with Herman by Saturday.

I guess Texas is sticking with Strong for one more season. Question is, will Texas A&M try to make a move.

Yep but if A&M does that it would be crazy. Sumlin has them better than they've ever been. I think Herman doesn't want all of the UT politics. Being a coach there is almost like being a salesman.

It wouldn't be the first time a school has done this. Look at Georgia firing Mark Richt after a 9-3 season and LSU fired Les Miles when all he's done is win. Have to think A&M is getting tired of starting 5-0 or 6-0 and finishing with 4 losses. They just let LSU run all over them every season. lol

Yea but look at what Richt had. Dude had some of the best teams in the SEC more than once and only managed to win the SEC east what, once in the past 10 years? That year where they got to the SEC championship game against Alabama, the last 2 minutes was some of the worst coaching i'd ever seen when it came to clock management. Florida basically dominated them, even when they weren't good. As far as LSU goes, there are some schools that just feel like they're supposed to be in the running for a championship every year. They haven't beaten Alabama in how many years?

Sumlin isn't a good coach at all but I doubt A&M is gonna pay that $15million buyout that they were suckered into agreeing to
