Cleb,
Why did you so conveniently fail to mention that Texas Southern is located in the heart of the FOURTH LARGEST city in the entire country. Hell if 2 percent of all Houstonians supported Tsu Football you would lead the conference and division 1-AA in attendance year in and year out. BTW at GRAMBLING we are not in the business of attendance we are in the business of championships. The point is that TSU is located in the largest market of any swac school and you are lame enough too boast that you had 9,205 fans at your last home game. Even the JAG NATION which unlike TSU is used to winning but currently has the same record as you drew 18,000 + in their home opener.

Why don't high school students right there in Houston want to attend TSU?

79% of Texas Southern's 2001 freshmen class are from Houston and it's surrounding ISDs.

74% of Texas Southern's 2000 freshmen class are from Houston and it's surrounding ISDs.

See you Grambling folks just don't get it. I should be the only damn person showing up to a TSU game. Why?

Bill Thomas is our head coach.
Because our team sucks.
we are 1 - 4.
Bill Thomas is our head coach.
we went 3 - 7 last year.
Bill Thomas is our head coach.
We don't own a stadium
Our head coach is Bill Thomas.

Hell, my dumb ass shouldn't be at our games.

WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE SHOWS UP FOR A GRAMBLING HOME GAME???

Damn :eek2: :eek2: This is getting good.

Gets popcorn and awaits Cartel response.

Naturally TSU "should" have more fans because you are in the city of Houston. We are located in the small town of Grambling. Plus the enrollment is only about 4900+ The majority of the fans are alumni. We have 4 home games this year. It takes a lot of money to rip and run down the road for each game...plus the high cost of rooms at the Bayou Classic and other trips people have spent money on i.e. Vegas, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. Like Suge said...it was Langston. The majority of the people will be at the J State game and Homecoming. There was still a large turnout on Grambling's side. Langston just didn't bring any fans. Why not ask Langston why they didn't bring any fans? Our side was full. We've never had to move a home game to another city just to get some revenue like TSU did when they moved our game to San Antonio.

So before you go throwing stones at us, please explain why TSU gets little to no love in the city of Houston. I never hear of students graduating from high school and wanting to attend TSU. I hear more about PV than TSU.

You can explain over there =========>

Wow....yall got more excuses than a Knucka in jail.....
Why didnt you just stick with....."it was Langston"

Pitiful and just plain sad.

The past two seasons my team couldn't even smell a SWAC Championship yet our student enrollment is growing.

The past two seasons Grambling won SWAC Championships yet their student enrollment is shrinking.

Maybe that explains what nobody has been able to tell me.

By the way, Bill Thomas is our head coach. What's yours?

To set the recored straight about this subject and end the ignorance...

The students are not counted in attendence at the games. Only paying customers are counted.

The Alcorn game was said to have only 11,000 yet the whole student side was full and 2/3 of the visitor side. This doesn't include the people who don't sit down. The stadium holds 20,000. Both sides are the same size. You do the math. Ask any Alcorn fan that went to the game and they will say the same thing. The game was not full but it was packed.

As for the Langston game... Again the whole student side was full and nobody was on the other side. Maybe 1,000 people at the most. Langston fans I'm assuming... So again the numbers weren't actual attendence. Just paid.

When Jackson State comes to town and they announce the 15,000 attendance, knowing the game is full then you will understand.

Exactly Get Ready, true GSU fans don't go to home games when they can travel the world to places like Las Vegas and Portland.

This is the case at every school so please come up with another answer. I am sure that there were over 40 in Jackson for Homecoming butthe 4-5000 students is why we only got a count of 37K.

Carry on.

Have you thought about the location? Plus when you look at TSU's attendance what percentage of the attendance are students and what percentage are non students. This is one of many factors to look to at.

Who cares about if they're students. Gram is the Icon. The band is supposedly world-famed. YOu have the history and the following. Everywhere you play, home or away, should be packed.

Isn't it Gram people always hatin when we say JSU attendance figures are wrong?

Even my brother, who is in high school and has no driver's license knows that Dallas is further than 2 hours from GSU. Post facts only please.

Ok, 3 hours

Problem is that you got fans who rather watch SU athletics than GSU. False again. I live in BR and travel worldwide every weekend to follow Grambling. When you can name, names talk this then, with specifics.

Mike Bigg

Yet again -FALSE. You live in Make Believe Land. The classics would be broke without us. We officially are what it takes to start a classic, even in areas of the world where there are no HBCUs...ask the cities of Portland and Las Vegas.

Please, were these classics sell outs? Ain't like Vegas is short on cash. I can bring any black school to Portland and make money if you market it right?

-------------------------

Tigerpride makes a great point. Alcorn is not surrounded by metropolises and they get support at home. Gram fans are fairweather fans at best. Remember, Eddie Robinson's last home game drew flies.

Nastynupe, besides football what good is Grambling for? PV has your number in everything else.

Y'all did Mach. Remember? Vegas? Right? It drew well over 30K. The SFC hasn't always had Grumble in it. Don't ever forget that.

Bishop, errr, Paul Quinn? Come on back and let's get this replacement thingy going. LOL It'll be an all purple and gold SFC w/ 10K.

SFC CLASSIC WASN'T BIG UNTIL THE ICON OF BCF OWNED IT. bluefield...errrr pv can have PQ. CHANGE THE NAME TO THE "cricket classic". THAT GAME WOULDN'T EVEN FILL BLACKSHEAR. :lmao: @ DEM TEXANS

This thread is sad! C-leb, do you envy US so much you have to smack us about home game attendance? Sad. I attended TSU and it doesn't matter if y'all are champs are not, Houstonians do not RESPECT TSU. People look at me crazy when I say that I am going to a TSU home game, if GSU is not involved. And Alcorn games don't always be packed, TP. It really depends upon who the team plays. Jackson State fans do not fill Robinson Stadium. The alumni and supports are from both schools! There are certain games that people will make special trips to attend and the Langston game was not one of them.
