Cee Dog a number of people (blacks included) are disconnected from the REAL society. Having been an "involuntary resident" I have seen a number of young guys come to prison because they felt to "keep it real" with the people in their community.

Honestly, if a drug dealer gives a woman on welfare $1000 a month to hide dope in her Section 8 Housing they are going to do it.

Poor people will do what it takes to make ends meet.

I taught GED classes at the DC jail a few years ago. The number of young dudes I met in there who started out in the game as 7-8 year old kids amazed me.

The question you should be asking is how many of those people OWN those homes where the property owner is required to maintain the home and property but refuse to....

My point is poor people don't care. They are barely surviving themselves. If it came to $50 lawn or $50 worth of groceries which would you choose if you and your family was hungry.

That is the problem when the ghetto crimminals make home-owners leave in droves and renters move in in droves. No connection or pride in the neighborhood because they know they might move at any time and they could care less about the house/property because they don't own it. Baby momma rent the house for herself and a kid but as soon as the homeowner turns the key over, here come baby daddy Leroy and cousin Listorine and her kids moving in with her.

Meanwhile the property owner is cooling their heels somewhere else, sitting back collecting rent or guaranteed section 8 housing assistance money on the 1st of the month.

We have to be honest about this no snitching stuff folks!!! The police is not their to protect you at all times. Truth is even if you don't like what gangs are doing, they will kill you or your kids if they find out you call the police. Now the fools who agree with the gangs are the dummies, but what is a single mother who doesn't own a gun or if she has one gonna do with a crew of 20 dudes who will kill you?

If that's the route you want to take then don't complain when those same folks you saw shoot/stab/rob someone on your own block come shootup your house. That whole dumb logic is the main reason why black neighborhoods lead the nation 10 times over when it comes to crime.

Blacks not carrying about crime in our neighborhood is a republican talking point and diversion so you will not recognize their repugnant agenda. These same people that talk about crime in the hood are complicit. These are the same people that will not pass a jobs bill, do not want poor people to have affordable health care, wont increase the minimum wage, allowed the sequester to go through to reduce extended benefits for the unemployed, and a host of other endeavors that are just too disgusting to go into. These people have replaced white robes with pin strip suits and prey on weak minds and mentally whip folks as opposed to tying folks to trees and using a bull whip to garner control.

The government doesn't dictate how much crime happens in neighborhoods. Look at New Orleans, they can't convict 70% of murderers when EVERYONE in the neighborhood knows who did it but no one will say a damn thing. I'm sorry but you can't blame "the man" for that. I tell you what you do, go to a white neighborhood and commit those same crimes and see how quick they point you out.

First of all, it's not really about making ends meet it's more about finding the easiest way to do it. Cee dog grew up in Bankhead so I don't even know why he asked this question. Over there it's a known code that folks don't go to the police. And just like he stayed in school, graduated and went on to do something with himself everyone over there could've done the same thing had they chosen to. I mean realistically, how many black families in this country DIDN'T come from poverty? Damn sure doesn't mean you have to stay that way. The same way black folk will laugh at Hispanics for taking jobs painting, doing construction, cutting grass....they're out there in the Home Depot parking lot at 5am trying to get work but those same folk in the hood will look at that as beneath them. Keep it real. I grew up in the projects too so I know how that mentality goes first hand.

I believe some care but have to do what they need to in order to survive. There are some bad cycles that need to be broken. You have over 72% of AA women having children out of wedlock for one that need to be broken. That is a formula for poverty in most instances. As a result, you have poor kids that's not completing high school, being raised by the streets and perpetuating a horrible cycle of theft, violence and taking disproportionate residency in jails.

This thread shows exactly what I was referring to when talking about "mind whipping." Right wing folks have painted all black people with a broad brush and perpetuate the lie that it is a part of our culture. They actually have black people repeating their talking points.......

I believe it is a minority......I do not believe the majority of AA in this country endorse this behavior. Therefore, mainstream America is perpetuating a fallacy. I've been looking at Bill O'Reilly and Al Sharpton go back and forth about this the last couple of days. It has gotten personal and nasty between those two.....

JPD rolled up and badges started coming out from everwhere. Even had a Rolling Fork and Vicksburg badge being flashed. It was all good though. They just wanted the music turned down and a couple of cars moved.

Some people tried to pull that in that redish house across the street from mine.
They had all kinds of shat in the front yard, beer cans everywhere, with about 9 people eventually moving in. When I saw that little old black man on the cane and his white buddy over the neighborhood association standing in my yard, looking at them, I came outside and started laughing because I knew it was not going to be long before that situation was cleared up.

Within 3 months, them cats was gone out that house.
They tore off into that homeowners azz that was renting the place out and not keeping check on what was going on. :lol:

The first thing is I vehemently disagree with the precept that the majority of single mothers and their offspring don't care about crime in their neighborhood with is the basis of this thread. Hence, I don't agree that poverty is synonymous with low morals. However, poverty can be the catalyst for crime though again, we are talking about a minority. I do agree that low standards and low morals cause poverty. Consequently, I agree with all of the opposing argument and very little of the pro debate. However, it still deviates from the topic of mainstream America painting all of AA with a broad brush. I do not subscribe to that damaging fallacy. It is the gateway to precipitate racial profiling, institutional racism, the eradication of voting rights and many other things that some in the mainstream would like to take away from minorities.

It keeps certain businesses out of the hood. Next you watch TV-how many businesses have ads and are not in the hood? I can not buy books in the black community. I can not go to see a movie in the black community. I can't go to Red Robin, K-Mart, Best Buy, Dillards, Papa Johns, Ruby Tuesday or comic book store in the black community.

Yet I can name streets that have 5-7 payday loan places and churches on every corner.

It ALLOWS them to come in and be the savoir of the hood. Especially in terms of schools.
CHARTER SCHOOLS-who is the main ones running to them? Who runs them? That's right. Even Deon Sanders has joined in the fleecing of dumb black folks with his charter school. Charter schools that steal black kids (athletes) from the public schools.

Check the waiting lists for those schools. 100-5000 names long. Check who owns them-Deon, Brooke Shields, Al Pacino, the lead guy from CSI New York and others.

Offering inferior education (most of them), underpaid staff and test scores that are still below the public schools. Excluding Urban Prep-main you-they are trying.

Also it helps magnet schools (or it did at one time) to get kids.

And what happens to the public schools? You get what is going on in Chicago-black schools closing. Remove public education out of the hood and replace it with pick & choose charters-you get tons of Pookie & Ray Ray that now have no school to go to.

It help perpetrate white is better. See movie Dangerous Minds, Freedom Writers & Blindside. How many stories of a white family getting a black boy from the hood do we see? Yet we never heard the story of the black man who took in over 20 kids while working as a janitor for Dallas. Or the black folks with white kids.
