Why do folks act like we can over come years of unfairness all of a sudden in the last 10 years? I have noticed that there is a large percentage of AA's who act like we can over come decades of unfairness in since the year 2000. I still remember many HBCU's and inner city schools winning desegregation lawsuits for lack of funding and old text books in 1996 and 1998. Folks act like since things have gotten a tad better since 1999 that we have had fair playing grounds for ever. I really notice this with the age group of 18-40. I still remember signs in certain parts of Bama and Ga that read "Don't let the sun catch in this town before it gets dark" being up and posted by cities in 2001.
