Why are our sisters treated unfairly in relationships compared to other groups?

There's not one particular contributing factor that has jacked up the black household. There are many. Lack of strong brothers and mass incarceration are just two of them.

First we need to define what a strong brotha is. Then we have examine what causes the lack of strong brothers. Finally, we have to determine the percentage of lack of strong brothas before we can move forward.

True, but like I said before, that's only one factor. It's a global institutionalization of Black men and the Black family. Have you read Dr. Frances Cress Welshing book, "The Isis Papers"? She talked about the revolving process of defeminizing Black females and feminizing Black males decades ago. This process was put in place by others to keep the Black population from overtaking the White population, basically a genocidal way of controlling the world’s Black population. If this process wasn’t put in place, Blacks would most likely outnumber other races at an exponential rate, particularly the White race, since the only way to create another White person is with two White parents. Hitler used this as a means of murdering the Jews in Europe. Since so many of his so-called pure White troops were dying on the Eastern front fighting Russia, Hitler stated that he had to maintain the racial balance in Europe by killing the Jews. In other words, it's a much bigger picture than the lack of strong brothers.

I agree with this and to add on it's so many processes put in place to kill us, Aids, ritilin, crack, tougher laws that target minorities but its not working fast enough. If we as black men would just be father's to our kids a lot of things black men suffer from would be erased. Instead of raising our sons we let the government and others do it for us.

True, but now you have sistas fighting Black fathers on who will raise Black children and the sad part about it, most of them see it as a means of financial gain.

Something that wasn't really happening 40 or 50 years ago. The money has trapped us...

I don't know if women are trying to be men. A lot of what we are witnessing is a result of the long-standing fight by women (for several centuries) to be considered equal - to have equal wages, reproductive rights, maternity leave, vote, own land etc.

As this relates to black women, for so long they've been considered as even lower on the totem pole in terms of value as white women. And they've been fighting to earn that respect and secure their place in society as well.

But, the WaPo story went onto explain that high women earners have increased due to more men being laid off, fired and having difficulty finding work over the last several years. I believe at one point, women entering the workforce outpaced men. There are a lot of factors that contributed to this.

This is very true. I hate when punks and punkettes try to blame the black man for everything bad in our community and the world. :emlaugh: One thing that may be the genesis for all of this is deterioration of the nuclear family. When it became necessary for both genders to work in a household for economic reasons and the advent of latch key kids, it marked an indelible societal change. It also opened the door for many factors that are the catalyst for statistics that we're seeing decades later......

If the sistas of today would just listen to these sistas, things would get back right again...

See, these women just told it how they want it, no games. But they would give men the benefit of the doubt.

These woman of today will cut you down just by staring at you without actually getting to know you...:smh:.

Also, sistas of today need to realize its ok to be submissive.

Have your heard of Dr. Umar Johnson? He mentions a lot of these things.

I also agree with laws these days that target black males such as stop and frisk, the foolishness going on in Louisiana with the sagging pants law, and the imbalance in jail sentences. You also have to examine how harshly black boys are treated in school by their superiors. So, black males are under attack.

How many of these women even know who the father of their kids are? How many times has Maury had a girl on the show 5-25 times trying to find out whose her baby daddy is?

How many decent and respectable black males have been chased out of the hood? How many decent brothers got treated like crappy at a hood school and couldn't wait to leave the hood for any college. Look at what the boys at Urban Prep in Chicago had to deal with. Couldn't go to school without gangs chasing after them.

How many have been killed in the hood?

How many were on the good road adn got turned on the bad road due to who they hung out with because it was drilled in their head to support thugs and simps.

A lot of these black females do this to themselves.

They don't want a decent man-they want Pookie & Ray Ray. However when they hit 30, they want a decent man to take care of them and the kids they had with Pookie.

They don't want a working man-they want a lazy one that they can control.

They don't want that kid-it's just a weapon to use against a man. Or force the kid to be rapper or athlete to take care of them. Look at all the jock who are broke-their family took them to the cleaners.

All these messed black boys are coming out of single mother homes where no REAL man is allowed to help the boy. That's how you get a Chris Brown & Chief Keef. No real man would be proud of those two.

I only know of 1 black boy-in prison now that had a father but I know 300+ in prison that don't have one. Yet all I keep hearing from these bitter women is there are no good black men.

most of us hate ourselves (skin) man, that's the only reason

Nope those are things that a person should do. When I say act like men I mean the attitude, like aggressiveness, having sex with multiple dudes, talking reckless, throwing her wealth and success in another person's face to make them feel weaker, women dressing like men, fighting etc

Attitude- have been around for centuries-- good, bad and stank
aggressiveness- many MANY tales of using what you got to get ahead by any means necessary. Ask Diana Ross, et al
Sex with multiple dudes- there is a reason for the mama's baby, daddy maybe, right? You know you already know that family
throwing around what you have in another person's face- there is a reason they came up with the Keeping up with the Joneses...
women dressing like men--now that's pretty new
fighting--OMG...where have you been that you think fighting is new?

Are women really that slick that you have no clue?

And like I told you SU...see how the topic is now off tangent?

I can't disagree with this. I saw and heard a lot when I was a kid around my family.

The truth of the matter is many of us are in denial of what we come from and who we come from. We get a degree, career and forget that no matter what we try to make ourselves out to be, until we confront the past, learn from it and acknowledge it we will struggle in family and personal relationships.

I think the book "The Way We Never Were" is an interesting read, and counters many of the perceptions that we hold about family, culture and society of yesteryear.

I have heard about him and you're the 3rd person that has mentioned him. Need to check him out....

Another thing the problem is sistas are rude. Ask anyone in the USA who are the ruddiest folks and I bet you they say the same thing. It is hard dealing with rude folks who think the world revolves around them.

If you haven't men, find a church or someone teaching the "Quest for Authentic Manhood" class. A lot of the issues you have mentioned are discussed in this class. I'm taking it right now and while women have progressed into roles that they did not have for years, it has also blurred the line for what a MAN is. Add to that situations that took the man away from his family (Industrial Revolution and World War II) and you have a deep setup for the woman having to take over traditional male duties in the home ..... the most important one .... teaching your son how to be a MAN.

Sorry ladies, but NONE of you can do that and unfortunately, a lot of the men today who have kids cannot do it either so we continue in this cycle until someone decides to break it. As long as black women and men choose not to respect each other, this will hurt us more than anyone else because we were already behind the eight ball to start.

Until Black women learn to get along and show respect for one another, folks will continue to treat them like they treat each other and we all know how Black women treat each other for the most part.

Instead of getting worse, how can this bad cultural be reversed? IMO, it's going to take Black men and women to see things different, but somehow Hollywood and the Black church are working hard to keep the bad cultural going, so they can be profitable.

Hmmm, so you're saying that religion is helping the Black culture deteriorate even more? Just asking.

Some women's standards are so high to the point that if you're not equally yoked with them, which means going to church with them, the won't give you the time of day. Perhaps this is why there are so many single women in the Black church today.
