I'll give credit where credit is due, Kobe has had a great season, no doubt, but not an MVP season. The Lakers are 5-6 games over .500, and about 10 games better than last season, but I would also give Phil Jackson his due as well, after all, most Laker fans said they didn't make the playoffs last year, because they didn't have a coach. Enter Phil Jackson.
I won't knock Kobe, but an MVP would recognize what he has in Lamar Odom, and get him involved the way Jordan did with Pippen, Steve Kerr, Craig Hodges, Bill Paxon, and the rest of them bums he played with. Lamar has triple double capability, but he gets lost, with Kobe's percieved taking over games. I've seen the Lakers go on nice runs this year with Kobe on the bench, and instead being a great facilitator when he re-enters a game, and keeping the game moving between everyone, he starts dominating the ball again.
I like what Nash has done with Phoenix this year, I didn't think he was the MVP last year, but I think he's earned it this year. A few others I would give votes to are, LeBron, Chauncey Billups, Elton Brand, D. Wade, Nowitski, and Tony Parker. Parker has been keeping the Spurs rolling, especially seeing how Duncan, and Genobili have been hurt this year.
In any case, it's going to be a tough vote this year, and probably the toughest since '88, when you could've made a case for Bird, Magic, Jordan, Isiah, and Dominique.
