Who wanna contest? (96-99)

We won 28 straight SWAC games from 1985-1989. We had no SWAC losses in 1986, 87, and 88. We had one loss in 1985 and that was to Valley. Southern broke our streak with a Homecoming upset in 1989...and we followed that up with a Gram loss.

My mentioning the series blowout does not detract from the greatness of Grambling. We did kick your azzes 9 out of 10 years on national t.v. We did see the legend cry on t.v. after those azz kickings but then that does not take away Gram and Coach Rob's legendary status and I am big enough to admit that. When Bruce Eugene and Antoine both cried on national t.v. after that azz kicking that S.U. bestowed on your legendary program that did not deviate from the fact that you are Grambling. But we did kick your azz.......no big deal!!!

Despite the sarcasm your statements are true. Grambling's legacy has been established and losing the Bayou Classic doesn't take from the legacy of Greatness. That's not to say that the Grambling fans are ready to end the losses, but the nation still holds Grambling to high esteem. For instance, you would think by now that the media attention would focus more on Pete Richardson. I know about the one clip of him making a illegal hit on someone, but they don't even show that anymore now that Bob Trumpy has left the booth.

I understand the frustration yall feel and by the same means the way yall lash out about all comments from Gramblinites can be understood. Perhaps when yall grow up to be a big time program some of the sensitivity will cease. Good luck during your maturation process!

Ok, missy you can post your "giggly" faces now!

Despite having a fully accredited school of business and graduating numerous accountants, it amazing how Gramblingnites have problems with simple math. Since S.U. has tallied the 3rd most wins in BCF and Grambling hoovers right at 13 (odd number in more ways than 1) it looks like to me that they are trailing in the maturity process. This is simililar to when a child reaches adolescents and think he is on the some level of let's say his Daddy. If your school has "less than" and S.U. has "greater than" in the series win loss columns ( similar to debits and credits) it means that you are behind and trying to catch up (mature). This example should be as simple as putting together a financial statement.

Onnidan at one type had the numbers posted. Maybe if you ask their web master he will give you a listing of the programs with the most wins in BCF.

Thanks for the attempt to educate us, but to be completely accurate a credit entry does not necessarily denote a negative item. For instance, Revenue Accounts (Sales) are often listed as a credit entry.

Also, in the Accounting profession, the numbers themselves don't always tell the full story. For that reason, financial statements also have "Disclosures" that explain the numbers. In this instance, a full disclosure would be to explain that although SU has more total wins that is due to having more years to compile this total. SU started playing football nearly 3 decades before Grambling. That explains the victory total discrepancy.

Hope that helps with your understanding and maturation process as well!

SOUTHERN 28 WINS GRAMBLING 24

Let me put this in Layman's term....

You don't have more overall wins regardless of when or why you started playing football (disclose that). That makes you and Grambling the child and S.U. your DADDY.

The overall series is a DNA test. And it proves who "DADDY" is. Your need to explain that you/Gram is grown shows why your matriculation must continue.

BTW,

It took you all 1 & 1/2 of a decade (15 years) before you even scored on S.U. (disclose that you did not play every year during that time frame)

BG,

You might want to check your sources...Eddie Robinson became the coach at Grambling in 1941. I Don't know about prior to that before we officially became a college. However, I doubt if we played yall in 1932.

College football's conscience.(Eddie Robinson)(Brief Article)
Sporting News, The, Dec 20, 1999, by Richard Lapchick

For more than 50 years, Eddie Robinson fought the good fight, using his success as a coach to positively affect society

Franklin Roosevelt was president when Eddie Robinson coached his first football team at Grambling State University in 1941. Robinson didn't stop coaching until 1997.

Ever loyal at a time when college coaches jump from one school to another or to the pros, Robinson stayed at Grambling, where his teams won a record 408 games.

After completing college in 1941, Eddie Robinson was earning 25 cents an hour at a feed mill in Baton Rouge, La.

Are you disputing the games prior to that?????

I will type slowly so that you will understand. I don't know about any games prior to that...maybe you do (since you never ask questions unless you think you know the answer). To my knowledge the only coach at Grambling was Eddie Robinson. I have heard rumors that Emory Hines (SU baseball coaching legend) coached at Grambling prior to it becoming a college.

Please post something even if it's a lie. I've actually grown tired of this thread. My initial post was taken out of context...typical over-reaction from an insecure fan base:cool:

GSU Coaches
1926-32 R.W.E. Jones (Southern)
1932-33 Ira Smith (Tuskegee)
1933-34 Joe Williams (Bishop)
1934-35 Osiah Johnson (Tuskegee)
1935-40 Emory Hines (Texas College)
1941-97 Eddie "The Legend" Robinson (Leland)
1998-Present Doug Williams (Grambling)

I've never posted a lie about your school. I stand by "all" of my comments and facts about that school up north.

Btw, I talked to a Marines buddy yesterday that is related to the former player you asked about. The sideline incident at the BC. The former player was A.T., played/playing in the CFL. Anything else you care to know about your school?;) :D

Don't know what you're talking about concerning a former player...I had heard something about Emory Hines preceding Coach Rob but not sure if we were a college then. I think the NCAA's total victories for GSU matches the total compiled since Coach Rob.

That is totally true. The record books don't include any establishment of GSU football before Rob. When listening to ESPN they are always stating the Doug is only the second head coach in GSU history and this is fact. And congrats to SU, you have beat us 10 out the last 11 and you possess a 2 game classic lead, therefore at some point in history we held a 7(?) game lead.

Not even to mention that the Great and Legendary Southernite Ralph Waldo Emerson Jones aka "Prez" hired Eddie Rob. Southernites make such good decisions.

Exactly. They don't know their own history but claim that we have none. This only tells you the level of their intelligence..:emlaugh: :emlaugh:
