HBCU SCREAMING CHAMP 99'
That SU only lost one SWAC game in a 4 year stretch, a certain person by the name of Mach don't believe it....

Please anybody contest that....

The only lost SU took to any SWAC school from 96-99 was Alabama St, which was the 1st SWAC game of the Fall 96 season.

The only HBCU's to beat SU besides that one time Alabama Beat SU were from the MEAC...(Howard 96, FAMU 96, FAMU 97, FAMU 98, Hampton Heritage bowl 99, FAMU 99)....

What other SWAC school pulled that off?

Scratch that.....SU lost 2 in 96...Alabama St. and TxSU in 96

But NONE from 97-99 3 year stretch

The SWAC champions was always the representatives from the SWAC in the Heritage Bowl...

that was 95 and 96 as well...

He!! from 96 -99.. SU only LOST 1,(one), UNO SWAC game and that was the 1st SWAC game of the year to Alabama St. in 1996..

Ask somebody....;)

The jags had it going on for real...but those out of conference drillings by FAMU really were some monster blowouts!

1. Prairie View 11-0 (1.000)
2. Mississippi Val 9-0 (1.000)
3t. Grambling 10-1 (.909)

6. Alabama St 9-2 (.818)
7. Alcorn St 7-3 (.700)

We scored 52 on them in 95 and they scored 65 in 99. You have the uncanny ability to accentuate the negative when assessing S.U. There is not a series of black college power houses as lopsided as the Bayou Classic the last 10 years. That is my definiton of a "monster blowout" of epic proportions.

I dare you to find any S.U. series as lopsided in the loss column as Grambling is to S.U the last 10 years........No you cannot find not 1

Is it possible that yall read more into my comments because yall know that I'm a Grambling alum? Check out my comments to most posts and you'll see that I often play "devil's advocate". Even when it comes to Grambling (on the Sports page), I will give my opinion/assessment. You mentioned the 52 you scored on them in 95...I assume this is the Heritage Bowl game. I recall a high scoring game where the margin of victory wasn't very great. In the game that I referred to when they scored 65 was indeed a blowout (SU only scored 19).

Your definition of a monster blowout is flawed... Other than coach Rob's last year, when was the margin of victory such that it could be considered a blowout. Props to SU for winning but those margins are hardly blowout games.

Oh, as for the challenge... look back to the period of Domination by GSU in the series. It has happened before but in the other direction!

the 52 points were scored in the Budweiser classic. You used the blowout in a plural formal and the context that it happen regular

my definition is not flawed it is just that your scope of the word is narrow. The last 10 years, the series is 9-1 which constitutes during the time fram that the series is in fact a "blowout."

This cannot not help with the current series "blowout."

I'll wait til you've finished the Egg Nog...it should help clear your mind :D

I stated that SU suffered some blowout losses to FAMU during that period of domination. No knock on SU, just showing that all programs can have an Achilles heel. Same for GSU during our days of dominance...same for JSU.

During the 60's and 70's, GSU had it's share of losses to TnState an Alcorn. That doesn't detract from what we accomplished. When Jackson State had it's run of dominance during the 80's, it can be "astericked" that GSU split with the 5-5. But that doesn't detract from the fact that they dominated the league championships in the latter stages of the 80's. In fact, had it not been for the years that GSU beat/upset them during the late 70's early 80's they would have clearly dominated.

No knock on SU...yall handled the 90's and so far have the classic edge in the 2k's. My mentioning the azzkickings from FAMU don't take from your accomplishments...but they did kick your azz. Big Deal!!!!

Yep but since we know that won't be happening ya'll an X that on out.......;)

You got to be kidding if you don't know. I'll give you a few to think about it ...................

4 years, 1 SWAC loss, 3 ties to non-SWAC HBCU's, and 1 loss to non-SWAC HBCU's during this 4 year streach.

ANY GUESSES?:emlaugh:

You sure .................... remember we only had 3 SWAC losses in 5 years.

And 1 correction ------ we had 2 losses to non-SWAC HBCU's duing the 4 years.

Mike Bigg.........

My mentioning the series blowout does not detract from the greatness of Grambling. We did kick your azzes 9 out of 10 years on national t.v. We did see the legend cry on t.v. after those azz kickings but then that does not take away Gram and Coach Rob's legendary status and I am big enough to admit that. When Bruce Eugene and Antoine both cried on national t.v. after that azz kicking that S.U. bestowed on your legendary program that did not deviate from the fact that you are Grambling. But we did kick your azz.......no big deal!!!
