Where can we talk about APR issues?

We can't talk about about APR because a group of supposedly college educated adults look to put down the next school any chance they can get.

See the last 6-8 posts smh....
Who are you talking to guy? I'm pinpointing my undergrad's apr & recruitment issue. If your skin is thin, there's title ix for ya' lol. No one said a blip about "valley." :retard:

I believe you....10000000001%

I believe in TEA 10000000001%. The governing body that doles results and applies the tests (TAKS and STAARs) w/ zero biasness.

I'm going to enjoy watching the larger districts suffer through their piss poor performance, while being outshined by the better equipped academic neighboring districts, yet again. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

That's why if I was a coach, I would start at schools with a recent winning tradition. I want kids who are used to winning and know what it takes academically and athletically to win. Now, would I not recruit a kid from a losing school? Of course I would.

I believe P88 has a point too. SU has somewhat done it with East Baton Rouge Parish ... the system has gone down so those kids aren't coming in qualified like they used. BUT, SU has not stopped TRYING to get the good ones in there, knowing they have to compete with Grambling and other local schools. As a product of EBRPSS myself, I know there are great kids coming out of the system, BUT when you see that all everything guy coming out, you have to do a real thorough job of making sure he is "ready" for college.

But, we have also leaped into the periennal winners like John Curtis (John White), Evangel (Virgil Williams and one this past year), and others. It needs to be a combination of good systems and overall good players.

Louisiana Tech, Grambling, Northwestern State enjoy APR success

Grambling State, Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State all saw at least six programs post improved APR scores in the final year of the current APR guidelines.

The new guidelines will require programs to have a two-year APR average of 930 or a four-year average of 900. Failure to reach those levels will result in penalties from the NCAA, including loss of postseason competition and scholarships.

While NSU and Louisiana Tech both burnished their sterling academic reputations, Grambling took a step toward getting back on that path.

The GSU men's basketball program had its postseason ban lifted after one year, but is still dealing with loss of scholarships and in- and out-of-season restrictions.

First-year GSU athletic director Percy Caldwell said the Tigers program is in better position going forward with the hiring of new coach Joseph Price and a commitment to improving APR numbers across campus.

"Overall, our teams were doing well prior to my arrival," Caldwell said. "We're meeting with all the head coaches (today) to talk about the new provisions beginning in August. We have a very clear understanding of what needs to be done. We're beefing up our academic enhancement office to continue the support and historic status of our athletic program. This is Grambling (success) is expected and we expect more and we will do more."

One would have to be stupid if one failed to realize that Gram & SU have recruited a higher caliber student-athlete.

Grades & scores don't lie. Enjoy your APR penalty Pv.

From how I understand it, if the dialogue can stay intelligent without becoming non-smack, juvenile, childish, unintelligent, personal or silly post to your heart's content.

Or..... you can go over to the Smack Forum and go for what you know
.

Why was this mentality not in place 2 years ago........................

I think if we could put 3 schools out of the SWAC (Jsu, sTu, and Valley) a lot of the conference problems would be mitigated.

You would then have a nucleus for a new conference:

Langston, sTu, Jsu, Valley, Tuskegee, Tnst, Texas College.

Please do so JSU can watch this conference finish rotting from the bayou stench that comes off of every decision made in this conference.

The rest of america integrated but the SWAC didn't get the memo. It's "Juneteenth" in the SWAC lol.

:smh: What a horrible testament. :shame:

:lmao:

But its the gods honest truth.............
If some of these backwards nuts had their way, they would not even allow white people to cover SWAC sports unless they actually attended a HBCU.

Before that horrible biased moderator Fiyah closes another good thread....

I want a decent explanation as to why its always open season on JSU and JSU folks, but threads quickly get closed when other schools are on the firing line? Fiyah should be removed as a moderator simply because he has NO ability to be objective and he is a HUGE JSU hater. If you cant be unbiased, this might not be the job for you. Can we have a 200 post thread about other folks APR issues just like you allowed several APR threads about JSUs issues.

We want to talk about APR issues. Every now and then somebody might take a shot or two. They can take it just like we take it. We know its 9 against 1, but you cant continue to hold these folks hands. They need to hear the truth about how poorly their schools are being run. We are all adults here...try to moderate like an adult.

I don't even care GR.

I told all these fools 2 years ago when it was their turn, I was going to have no mercy on none of them. Far as I'm concerned, just like they all hoped for us, they can shut all their programs down as far as I care. We told them this day was comming and now that it is here, they want to act all brand new, byotching about JSU posters doing the exact same thing to them that they did to us for the last year and a half.

Screw'em all.............

Why don't you start a thread somewhere specifically about what you're asking instead of always highjacking another thread and taking it off course. If this is suppose to be about APR problems then why are you here changing this one?

Threads can't make it to 200 on the same topic.

You always come on the sports board and do this with some smack or have to try to insult people. You can go back over there on the smack board and try your hand at smack, but keep it off of this forum.

Folks always try to have this on screen persona and are so different in person.

People highjack threads all the time. I/We dont need your help when they higjack JSU threads
The question is why do you only close threads when its agasint other schools. Why does your bias only show up
when YOUR school is on the list? Why do you get upset and start closing threads and start sending
out warnings ESPECIALLY when your school is on the firing line.

All we ask is that you try a little professionalism if you are going to be the moderator and quit being so biased.
You are the worst moderator on the board...quit making yourself worser

So you mean the JSU posters in here are quiet in person huh? I can believe that.:emlaugh:

NCAA reports that JSU has revised APR issues

Just got word that JSU may be like Valley PineBluff and Texas Southern. JSU stilll has on going APR issues.
Darn it...what are we going to do about it? Is there a way to help our poor students get over this APR hump. The whitefolks shole is holding us back

What are your thoughts? Do we have too many thugs at MightyJSU?

LOL @ GR. You are a fool man. I knew you were going to do something like this. I started lmao as soon as I saw the thread title. I almost spit out my drink on the computer screen.

All of that sniggling and giggling you all have been doing was for naught, huh?

I told y'all that none of us had room to laugh at another when it came to APR. Or any other issue really.

:shame:

Seems we can only talk APR issues when JSU is involved. So I guess JSU folks need to talk about this.

Is this a serious question?

If it is, what "strong" HBCUs? How can you be a "strong" HBCU and question the importance of the academic success of your student athletes?

People already say a HBCU education is not on par with educations from other institutions. Not only that, but there are people out there who claim that attending a HBCU is somehow "better" for Black students and student-athletes. If that is true, then the APR should be the perfect measuring stick to prove it. Yet, instead of embracing the APR and using it as a way to show the value of HBCUs, you have people suggesting that keeping the pace with everybody else is too hard for poor old Black folks and implying that standards should be lowered for them. And then you wonder why people consider your education inferior. :shame:

While still thinking your raggedy school is "strong" ....

:smh:
