....on Grambling at the Classic BOTB's, what was that all about? I thought that displayed lack of class on SU's part. I can see the students lacking class, but I thought Doc was a first class guy. Kind of changes my perception of him. Pupils actions reflect leadership. He is the Director, he had to know that his kids were walking out. He should have told them to get back in there and show some SU class. Somebody from the band board please help me understand what was the point behind that? If SU had any chance of winning the BOTB's, they lost it there. It looked real bad...........

It's not to show disrespect. We left out because the battle was over and we went eat. What was the point of staying? You're reading more into it than it is.

I'm just reading what you all displayed. The battle wasn't over until the last band finished paying. Yawl weren't that hungry to sat a few more minutes. It was either disrespect, or bad sportsmanship.........

Aw please...Dr. Pannell don't complain about it. U don't hear us batchin about the fact that when u come in the battle u r not suppose to play any numbers until u set up in the stands but every year Pannell ignores the rule.:rolleyes: That's what I call bad sportsmanship when u agree on something then u do something else.:rolleyes:

The fact of teh matter is that if we would have stayed there it would have been a waste of time because they kept playing and playing and playing and we gotta eat. Nobody has time to be sititing there watching ya'll we finished we left. Simple as that.
 
Quit crying!!! You can go back and forth about what is stated to happen and what actually happens. It was pretty boring this year. This is 2004!!! So, let it go! You should be focusing on concert band, stage band, jazz band or something else which allows you to sharpen your musical skills. Work on refining your ax and let 2003 rest in 2003.

Say ZNSPR8502...i just wanted to correct a few things bcuz i think it's maybe the fact that u just don't know...now in actuality concerning your sig., all of this maybe true about the Jaguar but it's not the largest species of cat, actually ironically the tiger :) is the largest species of cat...go figure

The tigers are an endangered species due to Coach Bell and Jaguars. When a Jaguar stands on top of the SWAC Championship trophy, it's the biggest and baddest cat.
 
ACTUALLY, i was laughing at this entire thread, particularly the first post...........as far as the mascot goes, u know da jaguar reigns supreme.......we bring that :flamethro :flamethro

My question is this,.......The Grambling Band was finishing their last number.....Why did yall play a cadence in the middle of their performance. Do yall have silent cadences???? Perhaps if you had to go and eat you could have left (walked off) quietly This strikes me as disrespect. To me , there's no other way of looking at it.
 



Man let this ish go. This isnt the first time this has happened and it wont be the last. Everytime Grum has the last selection and the announcer says two songs and out they play 5 or 6 songs. I dont blame Doc for striking up a cadence because GSU was probably well into their 3rd song by the time anybody noticed SU leaving. If you dont believe me watch a tape a tape of 99 or 2000 B.O.T.B.'s the exact same thing happened both years and no one said anything then so why say something now?

lol@ grambling crying.....but i can't help but lol@ the re-hashing "we had to go eat" excuse SU always uses for leaving any battle. Yall got some huingry mofos in that band i tell ya. smh. lol. Yall alwyas gotta go eat.....even when you're in the same BUILDING WITH THE FOOD. i.e. everytime we play yall in the DOME.....anyway....GRAM stop cryin'

It's not an excuse, it's the Black Man!

Excuses are what the 2003 JSU football team and JSU Athletic Department used to try and back a coach that left them two-n-ten coming from a high school that was one-n-nine.
